Like the obsolete watchmaker, who in a world of factory made watches no longer makes watches but just repairs them, I don’t mind the process, or even the cruel advancement of time (at least I SEE it ticking away) – the only thing that rattles me is the awareness that I am receding into a time honored cliché.
